The exhibition runs from April 6th to July 1st at Bronzeville Winery — 4420 S Cottage Grove Ave, Chicago, IL
Curated by TSG and Bronzeville Winery
Inheritance of Hope is an offering—one shaped by what we carry forward rather than what we leave behind. Curated by The Simple Good in partnership with Bronzeville Winery, this exhibition brings together artists who understand hope not as something abstract or idealistic, but as something practiced through everyday acts of care, creativity, and courage.
At the heart of The Simple Good is the belief that meaningful change begins in small, intentional moments. The works in this exhibition reflect that philosophy, honoring lineage, memory, and the quiet resilience embedded in daily life. Here, hope is not loud or performative. It lives in gesture, in community, and in the choice to imagine a future rooted in dignity, justice, and collective well-being.
Set within Bronzeville Winery—an establishment deeply connected to the cultural legacy of Bronzeville—this exhibition exists at the intersection of art, community, and hospitality. Much like the neighborhood itself, the space invites conversation, reflection, and gathering. It reminds us that creative expression has always been part of how communities preserve memory and envision what comes next.
Inheritance of Hope asks us to look backward with intention and forward with responsibility. The past is not presented as something to be romanticized or forgotten, but as a teacher. These works invite viewers to listen closely: to histories carried in bodies, stories, and spaces, and to consider what wisdom has been entrusted to us.
This exhibition calls on us to learn from what has come before and to actively carry those lessons into the future. Hope, here, is not accidental. It is cultivated through remembrance, stewardship, and action. It is communal. And it is one of the most meaningful inheritances we can choose to honor—and extend—for generations to come.
🎨 50% of all artwork sales will support The Simple Good’s art-based social-emotional learning (SEL) programs for youth across Chicago, with the remaining 50% going directly to the artist.
